“A Mindful way of Eating”

What is Holistic Eating Solutions
Understanding who we are as eaters is essential to our weight journey. Each of us has a special evolving relationship with food. Holistic Eating Solutions primary focus is this relationship. It sees the challenge with eating, weight, and health issues is not an indication of being broken but as a window of opportunity to grow and evolve. Our relationship with food has important lessons to teach us if we choose to listen. Our relationship, family, work and sexuality are a close link to eating, weight and health. Holistic Eating Solutions has a powerful, unique approach.
About Me
Hi, I’m Darlene Bowman
I am a Certified Mind Body Eating Coach. I received my certification through the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. I am also a Certified Personal Trainer through ASFA.
I started my journey in the health and wellness field in my early 20’s. During this time, I battled with my own struggles of body image. I always wondered if I were pretty enough, small enough to be accepted by others. Fast forwarding, I have grown to love and accept the person I am today. I have since worked in various weight loss industries over the past few decades and have found that weight transformation is much more than calories in-calories out, but more about the mind body connection. I work with people who face challenges centered around body image, weight, digestion, overeating, stress, mood and more.
MY APPROACH
As a trained coach, my approach is positive and empowering. It is different from what we are typically taught. We’ve been told that it’s about will power or that we need more self-control. As a result, people have become confused on what to eat, and how to have a happy relationship with food and a healthy metabolism. Instead of seeing such challenges as the enemy, they become opportunities for growth and self-improvement. The primary focus is not nutrition, but our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs centered around food and body. I look forward to supporting you with coaching strategies and nutrition principles that are nourishing, doable, sustainable and that yield results.
